Newsletter: Work Ahead. Reduce Speed Now.

I’ll admit, I’ve found it incredibly challenging to be in touch, and it’s primarily because I have nothing hopeful to say. No matter which way I cut it (‘it’ being the current political situation in Malta, Europe, Globally), the result is the same – there’s a lot of work to do ahead, and some of it will be futile.

This is why I’ve reduced speed and tried to figure out, what application of my time, expertise, dedication, will be the least futile? This has been challenging, as everything else moves on at much the same speed as before, and because answers are needed.

But I have none.

What I do have are questions.

  1. Is this another burnout?
  2. Is it time to take a step back from party politics after 7 years?
  3. Will I find other pursuits as meaningful?
  4. Are 15 years of volunteering in the political, sports, human rights areas of society enough?
  5. Has volunteering for so long, and having a ‘volunteer-identity’ devalued how people value my time?

In the meantime, I go back to the drawing board, literally, and work on new block prints. Practicing art and learning languages, are two of the few things that I have found will always hold meaning to me. Sometimes I forget about both of these things, and discard them. But at the moment I hold firmly onto them as anchors in unsteady waters.

Take care of yourselves!
